Main Trope: Friends to Lovers
Thoughts:
This book has great plot, character development, and scenes that make you go damn…I wish this was a movie. When we meet Sloane, she has been caught, captured, and locked up by a killer, who literally puts her in a cage. Enter Rowan, her dark and dangerous savior who frees her—and thus ensues their cat and mouse game of catching killers and each other, but it's more than that. Their slow burn relationship makes you root for them and their growth as characters throughout the book makes you grateful you got through those ice cream scenes…if you know, you know.
Rowan is a chef, with a dark past that lead him to kill his father after suffering through a traumatic childhood—one which led him to an outlet—cooking and killing the worst people he can get his hands on. Sloane kills—leaving intricate crime scenes in her wake, leaving behind decapitated and torn eyeballs and spider artwork scenes—she is the Orb Weaver. Not much is known about her, but the trauma and her need to kill is healed by Rowan—a man who literally named his restaurant after her. I mean come on ladies. Get you a man who cooks for you and kills for you.
Lovers who slay together, stay together. Can't wait for book two in this series. If you are a true crime girly who loves some spicy romance these books are for you.
